Daeida Magazine is named in honor of Mrs. Daeida Wilcox Beveridge,
the woman who gave Hollywood its cinematic namesake.  Legends
recount a train trip back east in the 1800's and of a particular
encounter en route between Daeida and a fellow passenger who
enchanted her listener with the tale of an idyllic home called
"Hollywood," near Chicago.  Upon returning to Los Angeles, amongst
the bags and parcels of her recent travels, Mrs. Beveridge carefully
unpacked that magic word - Hollywood - and bestowed it to the
world outside her windows on Prospect Avenue.

In the spirit of her inspired style, our magazine is named for her.
"Daeida" means "Hollywood."
Founded in 2006 by David Ybarra, Daeida Magazine began as a
quarterly publication (4 issues per year) in its first year and became
bi-monthly (6 issues per year) before it evolved to its present monthly
cycle (12 issues per year).

A full-color glossy print magazine, Daeida maintains a commitment to
exclusive in-depth interviews and exclusive full-page photographs of
the fascinating pioneers, artists and icons we feature in each issue.
With an emphasis on women, veteran entertainers & contemporary
stars are the focus of each issue past and present.

Printed on genuine movie poster paper and packaged in an
archival plastic sleeve with thick cardboard backing, each issue of
Daeida Magazine is more than a contemporary coffee-table
publication; each issue is a "collector's item" cherished by fans and
enjoyed by readers worldwide who appreciate content-rich
conversations
with and gorgeous big images of their favorite stars of
yesterday and today.

Based in the heart of Hollywood, California, Daeida Magazine is truly
penned, photographed and printed - passionately - in the city that
inspired the very lady who inspired our magazine's name.

Our motto is and continues to be:  "Hollywood's People, Passions and
Its Past Are To Be Found Always in Daeida."
